In the remainder of their time, Scholars may continue their clinical or teaching responsibilities. However, it is a specific requirement of the program that a Scholar’s associated clinical activities may not be in general oncology or general cardiology, and must be directly related to non-malignant hematology. Scholars will receive salary commensurate with academic rank at their appointing institutions, up to $75,000/yr for two years, plus fringe benefits. In addition, $30,000/yr is available to each candidate to support the training program. These funds are to be used at the discretion of the scholar, and relevant expenses could include tuition for formal training programs, travel to national meetings, and also direct costs of the research program.

We are currently taking applications for a fifth scholar starting in 2010. One slot is available, non-HMS candidates are encouraged to apply.

This primary mentor should provide a letter of support, indicating willingness to serve, detailing interactions with the scholar (frequency of meetings, availability of journal clubs and other training seminars in his/her own institution or program), and discussion of the significance of the proposed research project.
